Probably Stolen Wine Brewing Guide
Updated
To make Probably Stolen wine, unlock winemaking with the Retired Winemaker upgrade, fill a Wine Bottle with 750 ml of suitable water, add BloomBerry and preferably Standard Yeast, then start fermentation from the bottle's interface. India Times says fermentation takes around two days, and the finished grade depends on your berries, your water and your yeast. The chart below lists the grade for each berry combination and water type, so you can check before you brew.

Unlock Probably Stolen wine and set up the brewery
Probably Stolen wine brewing is locked at the start. The India Times game guide says you buy the Retired Winemaker upgrade in Joe Wild's Network. On Mark Up difficulty it costs 200, and it can appear in the Referral section or in the Recommended row, depending on the offers.
Brewing supplies also come through Joe. The Probably Stolen brewing guide at probablystolen.fit says unlocking the brewery costs 200 credits, and a phone order ships the next day. The Retired Brewer is unlocked the same way for 200 credits and visits once a week with grapes, yeast, water rations and bottles.
A basic batch needs one Wine Bottle, 750 ml of water, and one or two BloomBerries. Yeast is optional, but the guides below treat it as the way to get the faster fermentation and the extra quality point.
Water and berries set the grade
Wine grade comes from a quality score. Game Wiki Station, a fan wiki, gives the points each berry adds: a healthy small berry adds 2, a healthy normal-sized berry adds 1, an underripe or overripe berry adds 0, and a moldy berry takes 1 away.
Two or more berries add one more point, and yeast adds one if it is present. Water adds points as well. The Probably Stolen Guide fan site says High-Quality Water and Pure Water both add 1 point, while Basewater adds 0, and that lower grades subtract points.
| Berry condition | Quality points per berry |
|---|---|
| Healthy small berry | 2 |
| Healthy normal-sized berry | 1 |
| Underripe or overripe berry | 0 |
| Moldy berry | -1 |
Read the grade chart for your batch
The Game Wiki Station chart gives the finished grade for each berry combination and water type. Find your berries in the first column, then read the grade under your water. Without yeast, read one row down. The last row is then Undrinkable with any water.
Pure Water and High-Quality Water share one column in this chart. Game Wiki Station's advice is to improve your water to High Quality before chasing Pure Water.
| Berry combination (grouped by score) | Pure Water / High-Quality Water | Basewater | Ghostwater | Rustwater | Gutterflow |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small + Small | Master Vintage | Master Vintage | Reserve | Production Wine | Production Wine |
| Small + Normal-sized | Master Vintage | Reserve | Production Wine | Production Wine | Homebrew |
| Small + Underripe or overripe; Normal-sized + Normal-sized | Reserve | Production Wine | Production Wine | Homebrew | Bucket Brew |

Pick the right water
Water is where the guides disagree most. The probablystolen.app guide, a fan site run by someone else, says Pure Water will not ferment because it lacks the minerals fermentation needs, and that Basewater or High-Quality water is the recipe choice.
The Probably Stolen Guide fan site reports that the in-game manual warns about the same mineral problem, but that in the game's actual quality scoring Pure Water scores the same as High-Quality water with no extra penalty. India Times tells players to avoid Pure Water and use Basewater or High Quality Water instead.
For a clear result, use Basewater or High-Quality water, the two options that the India Times guide and the probablystolen.app guide both name. India Times recommends two handfuls of small, ripe berries for high-grade wine, and says one handful can be enough for a lower-grade batch.
Yeast and fermentation time
Yeast affects both the score and the time. Game Wiki Station says ordinary and stronger yeast give the same one-point bonus, and that yeast power only changes fermentation speed. Leaving yeast out loses that point.
The Probably Stolen Wine Guide gives the fermentation times: Standard Yeast takes two nights, Super Yeast takes one night, and no yeast takes four nights with an unstable result. India Times adds that without yeast, wild airborne yeast does the work, which is slower and less predictable, so it recommends Standard Yeast.
Probably Stolen wine grades and Master Vintage
The grade ladder runs from Undrinkable to Master Vintage. According to the Probably Stolen Guide fan site, every score of 6 or more reaches Master Vintage, and scores of 7 or 8 do not unlock a higher grade.
The same guide describes two handfuls of small BloomBerries, Basewater and Standard Yeast in a Wine Bottle as scoring +6 for Master Vintage in two days. It also says Basewater is enough with two handfuls of small berries and Standard Yeast.
| Quality score | Finished grade |
|---|---|
| 0 or less | Undrinkable |
| 1 | Bucket Brew |
| 2 | Homebrew |
| 3–4 | Production Wine |
| 5 | Reserve |
| 6 or more | Master Vintage |
Aging the finished wine
Age the wine only after fermentation is finished. Game Wiki Station says to put finished wine in an AgeWell as a separate step, and it treats aging as a stage that does not replace choosing good ingredients. India Times says finished BloomBerry Wine can gain value as it ages.
The Probably Stolen brewing guide at probablystolen.fit describes a different machine, the Aging Machine. It needs power overnight, adds one aging day even at zero quality bonus, then one more day for every 125 points of quality bonus. The same guide says fermentation and aging are separate stages.
None of these guides gives a fixed sale price or a set value increase for aged wine, so treat aging as a gain in quality and value rather than a known number.
Our take on Probably Stolen wine
Work through the chain in order: choose small, ripe berries and suitable water, decide whether you want yeast for the faster fermentation, read the grade chart, then age the finished wine. The Master Vintage route is the one to aim for when you want the top grade.
When the guides disagree about Pure Water, Basewater or High-Quality water is the safer pick, since the India Times guide and the probablystolen.app guide both name them as the recipe water. The grade chart above shows what each water type can reach.
